For youth in search of a high-quality education,

our programs will combine rigorous academics, innovative instruction, personalized attention, and community participation

to create active citizens, and motivate students to achieve high levels of success.

Program Design

·         Rigorous Academics – Our academic program will prepare students for college. Each graduating senior will meet and exceed the minimum core curricular requirements for entrance into the Oregon State University system. With longer school days and a longer school year, our students will have more time to learn. This will allow our teachers to set higher expectations for their students and provide time to reach them.

·         Innovative Instruction Teachers will be involved in ongoing training to improve their teaching effectiveness. They will also use advanced technology as a tool within the classroom. By combining academic subjects and using project-based teaching, learning will be reinforced through life, not books.

·         Personalized Attention – In our small school setting, students will have interact more with their teachers both inside and outside of the classroom, due to lower class sizes. Each staff member will serve as a faculty mentor to a small group of students. Teachers will develop healthy relationships with students and their families.

·         Community Engagement – The curriculum will extend beyond the classroom. Partnerships with local community-based organizations will fuel our service learning program, which will inspire active engagement within the community. Students will also gain work experience in local businesses through our internship program. The school itself will serve as a place for community events and a safe atmosphere for neighborhood children.

Our Students Will Become…

Effective communicators who easily express their ideas through speaking and writing.

Critical investigators who reflect, critique, and analyze their current ideas and situations. They will effectively discern between good and bad information, and seek out alternative perspectives.

Self directed, lifelong learners who have the confidence and ability to learn in multiple situations.

Collaborative workers who appreciate different opinions and find common grounds during disagreements.

Producers of quality, revising and improving their work until excellence has been achieved.
